Fagotsav i.e. Falgun Lakkhi Mela is the most important festival organized by Khatu Shyam Temple in which lakhs of devotees come to Khatu from all over India to have darshan of their beloved Baba Shyam.
On the route from Ringas to Khatu, there are food distribution centers for Shyam devotees at various places. On this route, many Shyam devotees chant Baba's slogans and do padayatra with a flag in their hand.
More than 60 lakh Shyam devotees are expected to come to the fair this time. Shri Shyam Mandir Committee will handle all the arrangements of the fair with the cooperation of the administration.
When will Khatu Shyam Falgun Mela be held in 2025?
This year in 2025, Baba Shyam's Lakkhi fair will be held for twelve days in Khatu city from 28 February to 11 March.
The temple committee starts preparing for this annual Falgun fair a month in advance. Usually this fair lasts for ten days. Falgun fair is the biggest among the major festivals of the temple.
The main fair starts from Ashtami of Shukla Paksha of Falgun month and continues till Dwadashi. Ekadashi is the main day of the fair.
The head of Baba Shyam appeared on Falgun Sudi Ekadashi at the place of Shyam Kund and on Dwadashi he donated his head to Lord Krishna, hence the fair is organized till Dwadashi of Falgun month.
